About
What is DeadyVersion.com?
Inspired by the great work of Steve Klebanoff at www.headyversion.com, this site is designed to serve a similar function for fans of Dead and Company. It is not affiliated with Dead and Company, the Grateful Dead, or any affiliated enterprises. We do not collect ANY data or account names/info for folks who vote here, nor do we have any commercial purpose; this is purely for fun.
Where can I hear versions of these songs?
Many are available on commercial streaming platforms, and almost all are available at the Live Music Archive's Dead & Company repository.
How do I see which versions are the most voted for?
For songs with a sufficient number of votes, the top versions are included at the top of the page. Otherwise, you can see the results once you've voted. Don't worry, if seeing them jogs your memory and you want to change your vote, you can always go back and do so.
What's up with these fonts?
The headers are Lobster Two in bold typeface because it makes me happy. The rest of the text is Barlow, like John Perry.
Where can I send feedback?
We'd love to hear from you at admin@deadyversion.com
Any shoutouts?
Well, while I'm here... David Lemieux, the guys at Time Crisis, Steven Hyden & Rob Mitchum of 36 From the Vault, and some authors whose work on the Dead I've loved: Dennis McNally, David Gans, Blair Jackson, and David Browne. Plus, of course, the members of the Grateful Dead, Otiel Burbridge, Jeff Chimenti, John Mayer, and their tremendous road crew.
